Yarrod O  Lumberyard engine is Crytech based, so the transfer will be relativly easy. In fact, the new SC patch rolled to live serves yesterday is already running on Lumberyard.

Lumberyard provides better network coding as it is beeing built to nativly support MMO gameing play using Amazon's cloud (same as Twitch). This is what Cryengine does not support out of the box... so YAY! :d
Yarrod O  Newsletter from CIG:
There is one other big announcement we would like to make with the release of 2.6. We are now basing Star Citizen and our custom technology development on Amazon’s Lumberyard Engine. Since the beginning of the project, we’ve had to make a huge number of changes to the CryENGINE code and tech to enable us to deliver Star Citizen. While the original CryENGINE had great strengths in many areas like rendering and cinematics the needs of our game were well beyond what came ‘out of the box’. So we have, over time, changed significant parts of the engine for our technology, such that only a baseline of the original engine truly remains. In the future we will continue to make significant changes to AI, Animation and Network code and systems.

When Amazon announced Lumberyard back in February 2016, we were immediately interested. While based on the same baseline technology as Star Citizen, Lumberyard is specifically designed for online games, utilizing the power of Amazon’s AWS Cloud Services and their Twitch streaming platform. Amazon’s focus aligns perfectly to ours as we’ve been making significant engineering investments into next generation online networking and cloud based servers. Making the transition to Lumberyard and AWS has been very easy and has not delayed any of our work, as broadly, the technology switch was a ‘like-for-like’ change, which is now complete.

As an added benefit Amazon AWS data centers are spread around the world from North America to South America, Europe to China to Asia Pacific, which will allow us to better support the many backers across the globe as we scale up Star Citizen.

Finally, Amazon has made Lumberyard freely available for anyone building their own game. That means that technically-inclined members of the community can have a better view 'under the hood' of our game than ever before. It's also a great path for anyone interested in game development professionally; I fully anticipate that in the coming year we will be hiring programmers who have taught t

Snipah E  I completely agree, ME3 is amazing and the last 10 mins ruined it for a lot of people, however the entire game is the climax of a trilogy, the reapers and all of the subplots, the genophage, The quarian/geth and uniting the galaxy are examples. The game handled all of those aspects superbly and only suffered when trying to bring the main story to an end, although its not as bad as it used to be thanks to the extended cut. ME3 has the best combat, the best abilities and choices when levelling them, and its also the most personalised game out of the 3.

A common criticism is the lack of input during conversation but if you look back at ME1 and ME2 they trick you a lot, you get presented slightly different conversation choices in the less important missions and the character actually says the exact same line regardless of the choice you make. Im not 100% sure that its really frequent in ME1 as I have only completed it 3 or 4 times. But I know for a fact this happens all the time in ME2. And thats the one that the majority claim to be the strongest.

And yeah the citadel DLC is amazing and super funny, all the ME3 DLC is really good I think.
Ast   There didn't seem to be any squadmates in the combat sections of the videos - I need to be able to send in a Krogan to distract people so I can headshot them!
Snipah E  If you look at the bottom of the UI you can see Ryder is always with squadmates, they are just not showing them to avoid spoilers most likely.

kirakarma   I've often pondered the 'multi-ulti' concept being in this games future. Now it is in it's present. This guy is...reassuringly nerdy - nothing Trumpesque going on here.
Snipah E  multi-ult is cool but I doubt we will see too much of it going forward. Symmetra was in the unique position of her ult sucking the closer you are to spawn so making a 2nd ultimate was a great idea on blizzards part. They also needed to rework her without pissing off every existing symmetra main (They exist??) I think the idea of 2 ults is cool but I can imagine blizzard using new ult ideas on seperate heroes and making 2 awesome heroes instead of 1. Also its worth noting that Symmetra's ultimate had to be activated and then deployed giving a easy and fluid way of changing ultimates by hitting the key again, this wouldn't work on almost every other hero in the game.

Would be fun to see a brawl where characters have big changes to their ultimates
kirakarma   Nice info-drop Snipah. You make a good point about using ult ideas for new heroes, but I still like the notion of multi-ult for the entire roster. Not a near future prediction, but a couple of years from now, I think that the appeal will exist - multi-ult for all!
